Welcome to BubbaJay.com. Here you’ll find out a bit more about me – Jay Woolwine, a.k.a. Bubba. And while the nickname may conjur up images of a hayseed with a straw hat and overalls, that’s not me. I’ve moved around most of my life, with no discernable accent, and have found my home to be in Southern California at the age of 43.

I have been self-employed for the past 6 years or so, and have only recently returned to be in the employ of others. I’m managing a bar and working for a web-designer – both part-time, and continuing to persue my own interests at home.

In my ‘free time’ I like to do adventure racing. This entails riding mountain bikes, kayaking, trail running, navigating with map and compass, rock climbing and various other ‘mystery events’. The real challenge is having the ‘free’ time. I coach two youth baseball teams, help with my son’s Boy Scout troop, work two part-time jobs, have 4 kids and am married. So finding some time to workout is sometimes tough, but it keeps me fit and sane.
